Loosely based on actual events, the opera follows Guangdong native Wah-Kwan, who sets off to Vancouver to establish his ancestral identity while armed with the knowledge of mystical ritual magic. The show will feature mid-century Cantonese opera music woven with classic blues and folk tunes of Vancouver’s DTES and Chinatown.
